Gergana Dyankova is a 4th year film student at Baltic Film, Media and Arts School in Tallinn, Estonia. She has recently completed her graduation film "Wishful Thinking" and her previous student short film "In her shoes" (2024) premiered at the Academy award-qualifying "In The Palace" International Short Film Festival.
Gergana is originally from Bulgaria, and before studying filmmaking, her fields of work were youth education, photography and animation. She has a passion for dancing and learning languages.
I tell stories with humour—it's my way of coping, learning, and connecting. This film explores the fragile mother-daughter dynamic through the lens of a 15 year-old girl, whose flair for the dramatic gets the women of the house in an unlikely satirical scene.
