Director Vincenzo LaPilusa is a filmmaker based in New Jersey. He began his filmmaking journey with short films, exploring original ideas based on the fantasy genre that also mixes in absurdity, comedy and drama. He wrote, produced and directed a three part series titled “Lost in Numbers” (2023-2024), which mixed these ideas around an Abbott and Costello comedy sketch with the Twilight Zone concept. His latest creation, “Wishful Thinking” (2025), a short which Vincenzo wrote and directed, garnered high praise from his program at Montclair State University. The film includes original music from Connor McQuillan. “Wishful Thinking,” explores a fantasy inspired idea around the concept that we may not make the smartest decisions when it comes to what we want, instead of what we need.
Beyond his directing, Vincenzo has also worked as a Director of Photography on several projects, including “All the Time,”(2024) directed by Adam Brzozowsky. Vincenzo showcased his acting chops by appearing in a film by Jenny Palzom titled “Steak or Chicken” (2025). Vincenzo has also appeared in musical performances such as “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” and led the ensemble of “The Addams Family” as Gomez.
He is currently pursuing a degree in Film and Television Production from Montclair State University. He has completed additional courses in screenwriting and directing.
His main career goal is to write and direct both shorts and feature films for a major production company.
This film represents a big leap for me in both production planning, management and overall quality. I'm very happy with the end result, and I hope you enjoy it!
