Wings of World War II - Against Two Enemies

Operating from the hidden airfield in the “Valley of Fairytales,” Greek and British pilots launch impactful tactical and strategic strikes against the Italian forces. Meanwhile, Italian aviators—true to their doctrine of strategic terror—bomb Greek cities, revealing the merciless face of the fascist regime.
Acts of cruelty leave a mark: the bombing of Corfu on Christmas Day and the devastating air raid on Larissa during the major earthquake of March 1st, 1941.
While RAF squadrons dominate the skies over the frontlines from their Paramythia base, the threat of a second enemy looms large. Nazi Germany prepares for invasion—confirmed by ominous reconnaissance flights over Northern Greece. Simultaneously, Mussolini launches his much-anticipated spring offensive. It proves futile. Britain strengthens its presence, deploying the Allied Expeditionary Corps to Greek soil. This becomes the trigger.
The German invasion strikes with full force on the morning of April 6th, 1941. Luftwaffe’s 8th Air Corps—an aerial juggernaut—pounds targets across Greece, focusing on the fortifications of the Metaxas Line. That same night, the port of Piraeus is relentlessly bombed.
The few remaining Greek and British fighter pilots battle ferociously against overwhelming air power. RAF’s 211 Bomber Squadron is annihilated in a single mission.
In the north, Yugoslavia succumbs to the German assault. Refusing surrender, Yugoslav pilots flee to continue the fight elsewhere. They bring their aircraft to Greece—among the passengers is young King Peter II, who lands in Paramythia...

Director Biography - Dimitris Chatzimalis

Dimitris Chatzimallis was born in Germany and grew up in Eleftheroupoli, Greece. He studied television and cinema in Thessaloniki, where he worked for several years.

He has collaborated with television stations of nationwide scope and with international satellite networks, in television productions and broadcasts but also in journalism. In recent years he has been working for television stations in Kavala and has participated in dozens of television productions and broadcasts, as a cameraman, editor and TV director. Among other things, he has directed speeches of political leaders while he also directed the final matches of the Greek LOL tournament (League of Legends).
