Winged Hearts
LOGLINE: A brilliant violinist shattered by a career-ending accident and a fallen country star battling addiction find unexpected healing—and a second chance—through each other in a secluded mountain town.
(Script includes three original music scores - "Fallin' Cause You Said Goodbye", “Run the River Wild”, and "I Wanna Have Wings".)
SYNOPSIS: Winged Hearts is a poignant drama about redemption, healing, and the transformative power of music. Violin prodigy Clara Matensin suffers a devastating hand injury just before a major concert, threatening her career. At the same time, country western singer and star Brook Drendon collapses onstage due to alcoholism, losing his record deal and public standing.
Both retreat to Tamecoya Pines to recover—Clara to the Royal Mill Inn with her manager Logan, and Brook to Atitawa Vineyards under the watch of his manager, Jax. As Clara adapts to a prosthetic grip and Brook takes on vineyard chores to confront his addiction, a red-tailed hawk appears as a symbol of their parallel struggles and potential rebirth, giving them a spiritual out to air their grief.
Their first meeting is awkward but sparks a tentative friendship rooted in shared vulnerability and music. As they open up, Clara regains dexterity through therapy, while Brook channels his recovery into songwriting. Their collaboration on Brook’s song “I Wanna Have Wings” becomes a turning point, deepening their bond and reigniting their creative spirits.
A joint performance at a local venue marks their emotional breakthrough—drawing a new record deal and music fame, offering renewed hope. Together, they begin to rediscover purpose, resilience, and the courage to soar again.
