Wild Bitch
Wild Bitch is a quirky thriller about a local reporter’s interview with a mousy housewife about her life-changing encounter with a coyote. This leads to an eerie trek in the woods that leaves them forever bonded with each other... and the beast.
Thematically, Wild Bitch explores the connection between the destruction of nature and the oppression of women and the unique ways both will defend themselves when pushed to the brink.

KATE NASH
Kate Nash is a platinum selling recording artist, musician and actress from London, currently residing in Los Angeles. Kate's debut album, Made of Bricks, skyrocketed straight to number one, crowning her ‘Best Female Artist’ at the 2008 BRIT Awards. Her hit song, Foundations, stormed the charts and remains in radio rotation. In the wake of Kate’s second album, My Best Friend Is You, Kate set about using her influence to shift gender perceptions and inspire a new generation of female musicians, launching the Rock ‘N’ Roll for Girls After School Music Club. She released her third album 'Girl Talk' independently, and notoriously opened London Fashion Week’s Felder Felder show for the spring/summer 2013 season, marking a significant change in direction for Kate. Her fourth album 'Yesterday was Forever' was 222% funded on Kickstarter and she's been touring globally for 14 years. Kate was approached by legendary Hamilton choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler, to write and develop a Broadway musical using her original songs. Kate is set to star in the production. Nash is also well known for her performance as Rhonda Richardson on Netflix's Emmy nominated original, 'GLOW', produced by Jenji Kohan, and for playing Boudica in the BAFTA nominated 'Horrible Histories'. Recently, she shot her first lead role in the upcoming feature film, 'Higher Grounds' and her documentary "Underestimate the Girl" was picked for the BBC's notorious Storyville and is screening at festivals across the world. Kate artfully directed her most recent music videos for her upcoming album.
One dark day in pandemic lockdown, Kate was listening to the soundtrack from ”The Shining” while spiraling down a youtube rabbit hole. She happened upon a local news story featuring a midwestern housewife who was startled awake by a wild coyote that had broken into her bedroom. It ended simply after the gal called animal control and they brought the poor, scared coyote back to the woods. But for Kate, the creepy and dramatic music in her earbuds gave the segment an eerie vibe. It led her to think, “What if that’s not the end of the story…”
They had been looking for a way to work together since their beloved Netflix Series, GLOW, was canceled due to Covid. This seemed like the perfect project for them to escape into. They created a dark backstory for the woman, Barb Cramper. She seems odd but harmless at first but it comes out that she is quite dangerous. The journalist, Melanie Fischer underestimates Barb but ends up uncovering darker truths about the coyote encounter. Both women bond over their experiences with shitty men and in the end team up for their own survival.
In her writing, Rebekka often centers empowering women who are victims of sexism, misogyny and abuse. Even though she has primarily worked in comedy, she likes to keep her work dark and “Wild Bitch” is no different. In addition to being a rockstar and an actress, Kate is a vegan activist who often sheds a light on the destructive effects of humans on the earth. In “Wild Bitch” Kate and Rebekka use the horror genre to explore the connection between the destruction of our environment and the abuse of women.
They wrote, directed and acted in this love letter to classic thrillers like “Misery” and hope you laugh between your shivers as you watch!
