Which way should my chimney face?
Gergő and Liza, a young couple in their early twenties living a carefree life with their cats. Gergő’s mother is the character that brings the conflict by representing the generational differences especially when it comes to the subject of starting a family today. The plot revolves around a very typical Sunday family gathering where all the disagreements keep coming up, leading us to tense, uncomfortable situation.
The film addresses issues such as the housing crisis, dysfunctional family patterns, and how are these affecting the younger generation's plans for the future. This mess is presented in a fresh, undramatic way, using experimental elements.

I'm just strating out, but I am very lucky to have some experience already. I have worked in some short films, and one American feature film as 1st AD. "Which way should my chimney face?" is my graduation and first ever short film.
This film adresses social issues, which I, and many young people thinking about, like how the hell could we buy a house, or start a family these days? At least we don't have to think about which way should our chimney face I guess.... There are wars, housing crisis, underwhelming economy... etc. I don't feel safe in any way.. But the film addressing these issues (I think) in a fresh, fun way, instead of being overdramatic. Also, it's like an image film to meme culture :D
A film for me is always more than just entertainment. I want to start a conversation with my films. In "Which way should my chimney face?" we really tried to be honest to ourselves, do what we really want instead of following the rules of film. We wanted to push the limits and create something new, different and interesting. I also think that young filmmakers should create a film that represents their opinion, so I didn't try to hide mine.
