Sam is a filmmaker hailing from Modesto, California. The car theft and almond capital of the world and, of course, home of George Lucas. It's said that a filmmaker makes the same film over and over again. The film Sam makes in different shades is one that focuses on identity. Who are we? What does it mean to be "someone"? What significance lies with those attributes we claim and those we leave on the table? As you can imagine, the task of writing a biography when such questions define one's art can seem a bit absurd. Alas, we do our best, don't we?
My aim as an artist is to illuminate the dark corners of our collective psyche: the parts we're embarrassed about, the parts of us that smell, and fumble, and judge, and gnaw, and secretly believe we're the best, smartest, most wonderful scum of the Earth to ever (dis)grace this universe. I see you, I am you, and I think we're pretty cool as I'm pretty sure there's no other way to human. In any case, saints ain't know how to party. :)
