Writer Biography - Sara Alves

Sara Alves has a great passion for cinema. As a filmmaker, her main interest is to approach important subjects in her films/scripts such as multiculturalism, globalisation, racism, immigration and love bonds during war conflicts. Her thesis in MA in Erasmus University of Rotterdam was about the role of the filmmaker in controversial events. Her last film The Frame addresses the connection between a mother and a daughter immigrants in the UK.

She has a great connection with the Ukraine since her boyfriend and part of the family have Ukrainian Roots and she accompanied the situation of a cousin fleeing the country with her son Illya.
