Where Time Breathes

“Where Time Breathes” opens a portal in the Galápagos, where each wave marks the pulse of life. Here, time grows quiet, it is felt rather than measured.
It offers a way of living that asks you to breathe in step with the Earth.
This short film is a manifesto against the urban tick-tock: a sensory experience that synchronizes your breath with the ancestral, peaceful, and unwavering heartbeat of nature.

Director Biography - Marcelo Lagreze

Director, editor, and photographer based in Santiago, Chile.
Trained in Film & Television at the National University of Córdoba, he forged his sensibility between Patagonia’s vast horizons and a photographer’s eye for observation.
His trademark: seeing the edit while shooting and working with minimal logistics without sacrificing artistic ambition.
He turned the mobile phone into his main tool and creative calling card.
La Utopía de los Indignados (2019) and (PAUSA) (2021) won awards at festivals across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, celebrated for their blend of technical immediacy and human depth. The trilogy’s finale, Antes Que la Arena Vuelva al Mar (2023), distills life’s journey in poetic form and established Lagreze as a Latin-American pioneer of mobile filmmaking.
His new short film, Where Time Breathes (2025), shot in the Galápagos Islands, explores the harmony between human beings and their environment: a phone camera captures the ocean’s pulse and invites viewers to a sensory pause. Works that are light to produce, emotionally memorable, and perfectly suited to international circuits and agile co-production strategies.

Director Statement

Where Time Breathes sprang from an intimate urgency: to rescue the original heartbeat that connect us to the Earth.
I grew up hearing that the Galápagos were a “natural laboratory.” Once there, I discovered something deeper: a sanctuary where people live in harmony with the ecosystem and the tide sets life’s tempo. The synergy between humanity and nature unfolds organically; time itself drifts to the rhythm of the waves.
This short film invites viewers to mute their inner clocks and, if only for an instant, merge with the ancestral, ceremonial pulse that still sustains existence.
