Private Project

Wet Under Blue Sky

Emmy-Award-winning editor, Joanna Naugle (The Bear) and composers Blitz / Berlin (Bird Box, Blade Runner 2036) team up with actor Octavio Pisano (Law & Order: SVU) for his viscerally haunting directorial debut about a fading boxing champion fighting to hold onto his legacy, his family, and his sanity.

Beau Rivera (Octavio Pisano) , a punch-drunk prize fighter on the verge of becoming a superstar, begins to feel the magnitude of the sport after repeated head injuries and multiple blows to the head. With visions of his dead father (John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos)) and incessant chatter from his former boxing coach (ICE -T), he begins his slow descent into insanity. As his mind deteriorates so does his relationship with his wife and two young children. With the fight of his life approaching, Beau must confront whether or not his greatest opponent is in the ring or within himself.

Director Biography - Octavio Pisano

Octavio Pisano is a distinct filmmaker and actor with a unique realistic, surrealistic style. A painter and poet he draws inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi - “to see the beauty in imperfection”.

A critically acclaimed actor, Pisano is known for the award-winning film “Ms Purple” directed by Justin Chon, the series “Law and Order: SVU” (NBC) and the limited series “Coyote” (CBS). He began his career in theatre and recently performed in the “24 Hour Plays on Broadway” alongside Patrick Wilson in a play written by Jesse Eisenberg.

Exploring the art of filmmaking since his childhood, Pisano has written, directed and produced several short and independent films but his award-winning short film, "El Campo”, solidified him as a filmmaker. Inspired by real events, the story is about a narco camp in the southern part of Baja California, where they train unknown boys and turn them into cold-blooded killers. The film was selected to screen at the Rhode Island International Flickerfest Film Festival, London Director Awards and New York Shorts International Film Festival and won the Cannes Indie Shorts Awards, the Santa Barbara Indie Film Festival, New York Indie Shorts Festival, and the Best Shorts Competition. Pisano has several projects in development and is currently making his directorial debut with his film “Wet Under Blue Sky”, produced by Gavin O’Connor (The Accountant) and edited by Emmy Award Winner Joanna Naugle (The Bear).
