We Can Do More

We Can Do More:

There can be love
Between us
All connected
The world is small
Can we be in love with each other blind to race and belief
In love with nature, the common air we breathe

Violence is the weakest power
But there will always be war
Stuck in our darkest hour
Can we do more

There can peace
Found within us all
Maybe someday
We can tear down our walls
Built between woman and man
Ordinary people with a simple plan

Violence is the weakest power
But there will always be war
Stuck in our darkest hour
Can we do more

Find a way to better yourself
Be the change you wish to see
What a peaceful place our world could be

Violence is the weakest power
But there will always be war
Stuck in our darkest hour
Can we do more

Violence is the weakest power
But there will always be war
Stuck in our darkest hour
We can do more

Bill Caterini – Bio www.billcaterini.com

I was born in Philadelphia, PA (center city) on March 20th, 1971. I grew up in Wildwood, NJ, which is a
seashore/beach town along the Atlantic Ocean. I went to St. Ann’s Regional grade school from pre-first
to 8th grade and graduated in 1985. There was always music being played in my household, and I was
exposed to a multitude of musical styles/decades. My mother was a bit younger than my father, and
her musical tastes included Sinatra, Elvis, the Beatles, and the Eagles, to name just a few. My father,
John Caterini, was a World War 2 veteran, and his musical tastes spanned from the Big Band era to the
pop music of the 1960s. When he returned from the war, he acquired a (now legendary) nightclub in
Wildwood, NJ, called the Rip Tide (circa 1955-1969). The Rip Tide featured many top musical acts of the
time, including: Fats Domino, Ray Charles, The Supremes, Wayne Newton – also, strong regional
(Philadelphia) music acts like the Red Caps and the Kit-Kats. My dad was also a booking agent, so he saw
the business at its infancy, as well as the crooked side of it – he originally didn’t want to see me get into
the business because of what he had to deal with, years ago…however, he soon accepted both my
decision, and passion for the industry.

My first interest in music was sparked by the KISS phenomena of the late 1970s…I was intrigued by the
sounds of electric guitars and drums. I didn’t start taking guitar lessons until I was in 6th grade – I
continued lessons for the remainder of my schooling in Wildwood. I had a few high school bands, and
we wrote our own songs and performed them at talent shows. I was also involved with the high school
plays, chorus, and small jazz group/ensemble.

I was enrolled in Wildwood Catholic High School for my freshman year, but transferred to Wildwood
High School in 1986, and stayed there until my graduation in 1989.
Afterwards, I enrolled in Monmouth University. I was there from 1989-1993.
While at college, I
acquired a BA in Music, with a minor in Popular Music Business, as well as a concentration in
Communications. I started to get involved with both original and cover bands during this time, as the
1990s were, in my opinion, the last strong musical decade to promote/seek out band projects.

After college, I started carving out a more professional music career. My real-world education brought
me to all sorts of places, for short-but-productive learning opportunities: New York City, San Antonio,
Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Philadelphia…to name a few. I ended up settling in my hometown, because of
its proximity to NYC and Philadelphia, as well as it being easy to start performing – the south NJ shore is
a plethora of opportunity for performance, and if you hustle you can start to become very busy.

I set up my recording studio/label, Cat. House Sound, LLC, and started working on all sorts of projects: some of
my own, a lot from other artists. I’m still doing this very thing, today.

I am now concentrating my talents on a very busy local (tristate) musical performance schedule, as well
as my own personal recording projects/team projects.
I’ve written school curriculum for music business: the Entertainment Production Technology course at
the Cape May County Technical High School – 2007. I am still involved with a local school system, The
Lower Cape May Regional School System – The Richard M. Teitelman Middle School (RMT).
I teach an audio/video/broadcast class called “RMTV,” to the middle school students, as well as in-class
support teacher’s aide (the rest of the day).
I am a New Jersey certified teacher; my certification is in
Electronic Music.

I am a voting member in The Recording Academy – NARAS, Philadelphia chapter; a member of the Audio
Engineering Society, NYC chapter; I belong to the Free & Accepted Masons, Cape Island Lodge #30-Cape
May, NJ; I’m a Noble brother of the Crescent Shrine Temple, Westampton, NJ (Shriners International).

Artist Statement

I am very excited to be submitting our world peace original music contribution, "We Can Do More," to the Art 4 Peace Awards 2018.

I've always thought that it's an artist/composer's responsibility to communicate positive messages and mantras through their music - songs and music are the catalyst of change. And, it's every artists' dream to be the spark that fans into a blaze. Sometimes, people need to hear a message multiple ways before understanding; music seems to be a universal language.

I long for a world free of violence, and races/religions coming together; people recognizing that we are really all one - mankind.
