Waking Prospects
A toy plane with a broken wing is thrown into the trash, and a poor kid finds it in the middle of the garbage. With a long-standing wish to become a pilot, he imagines himself as a pilot in his dreams and starts flying the same plane in his memories and wishes. The great distance between his wishes and the reality of his life coupled with hopefulness sets everything on fire and effects destruction. In the end, he wakes up more mature and awakened.

Born in Urmia city of Iran in 1982, Shahin Jabbarzadeh has been a part of the filmmaking industry in Iran for over ten years. The roots of his interest in filmmaking lie in his involvement with dramatic arts as a school student and his deep interest in classical cinema. In this regard, he acquired his playwriting and theatre directing certificates from Iranian Performing Arts Association. After gaining hands-on experience in different genres of filmmaking such as documentary filmmaking and short film as an editor, a cinematographer, and an assistant director, he went on to participate in a course, equivalent to a master’s degree program, offered by Iranian Youth Cinema Society. His first short film, A Few Strands of Hair, has appeared in over 40 international festivals and has won over 10 awards in various categories.
