Jameil Player, Director, Cinematographer, Writer, Producer, and Founder of Visions Filmworks

Born in Leominister, Massachusetts and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Jameil's first love was the Culture of Hip Hop. Going under the moniker Islam Rap God, he has written and produced 3 Hip Hop albums. His entry into the world of videography would come in 2011, when the person he hired to shoot his first music video, did not show up. Determined never to experience that again, Jameil purchased his own HD Camera and with the help of one his friends, directed his first video for "That Raw", the lead single off of his second album "The Sun Rises in the West". The video was warmly received and he continued to shoot videos for himself and other artists in the Richmond and Tidewater area. In 2012, in an effort to help his friend Ahmad promote his poetry book, ",The Winters of Love", Jameil took two of his poems (Hood Movie and Ballin in the Fall of America) and made them into short films. Following the suggestion of the lead actress, Jameil hosted a theatrical screening of "Ballin in the Fall of America" at Richmond's Historic Byrd Theatre and nearly 200 people showed up. For the next two years, Jameil would continue to build his resume, shooting everything from commercials, to music videos, and even a reality show. On June 27, 2015, they would return to the Historic Byrd Theatre, with the full length sequel, "Ballin in Fall of America: When Everything Else Fails." Nearly 200 People came in the rain to see the hip independent film. Jameil is currently scheduling screenings and submitting the film in reputable film festivals across the country.
