Linda Malik is a writer/screenwriter/storyteller living in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Denmark, she worked as a professional ballet dancer for 12 years before an injury put a stop to her career. She went back to school in the U.S., where she earned a B.A and M.A in Radio and Television (Screenwriting) from San Francisco State University. She has written several screenplays (mostly dramas), and she placed as a semi-finalist at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship screenwriting competition. Her self-published picture book - WILLOW’S TALE: A LITTLE BLACK CAT GOES A LONG WAY - is inspired by her real-life rescue cat Willow. The animated WILLOW is Linda’s first collaboration with the neurodiverse artists of The Center for Learning Unlimited’s Brainstorm Productions . . . but not the last! WILLOW picture book #2, with illustrations by Brainstorm, will launch in December 2022.
I love felines! It is a joy to create happy tales that change the stigma of black cats. With our animated version of WILLOW, the neurodiverse Brainstorm Productions artists and I also hope to dispel any negative stereotypes of autistic adults in the workforce.
Hooray for out-of-the-box thinkers and out-of-the-litter-box mousers!
