WEAVER WONDERS
Weaver birds are amazing artists. Their colonies co-exist with human settlements near cultivation areas. Usually, such colonies are in an overhanging position at the village river, in wells, on a thorny tree like babul, and on taller trees like coconut and palm. They fetch long strips of leaves and weave the nest such that they remain safe.
Humans and Baya Weavers co-exist in rural areas of Gujarat. Gujarat, the home of Mahatma Gandhi, who believed in non-violence, has emphasised co-existence with nature. In his writings of Harijan, he noted that all the God's creatures have rights to live as much as we have.
