Milos Raickovich, composer, conductor and a painter, was barn in Belgrade, Serbia (Yugoslavia) in 1956. He has lived in Belgrade, Paris, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Hiroshima and New York. He divides his time now between New York and Belgrade. He made his firs film, IN A BACKYARD, during the first month of isolation during the pandemic in 2020.
WATER TONES is my composition from 1977, written for the Ensemble for Different New Music from Belgrade. It is a piece for multiple pianos, keyboards, marimba and vibraphone, with flexible texture, that is determined by the conductor's improvisation. In this 2021 video version, created together with pianist and actress Danijela Popovic, two pianists improvise together, letting their bodies' interactions influence the music flow.
