Director Statement

"Virtually Yours" is a short film that follows a young woman and her struggle with unreciprocated love. It is a dramatic story of passion, rejection and love with a major focus on how developing technologies affect love and human interactions. How do such strides in the digital realm, like augmented and virtual reality, change people's "actual" reality and their relationships in the real world?

In our world technology is progressing in a way where interactions with people are becoming obsolete. We wanted to explore the transition where people’s relationships are affected by new medias, and how these might be holding people back in life and complicating their relationships.
One of our goals was to highlight the female character and I think it shows by our amazing cast. We believe in the feminist ideal and to use our media to continue the fight for equality. With a female Director, Cinematographer, Editor, and an all-female cast, we think we’re on our way to give our female story room to grow.
