My name is Viktor Petrenko, I am 37 years old and live in Kyiv, Ukraine. My creative career in cinema began when I entered the Odesa Art and Theater School, the Cinema, Photo and Video Department. After graduation, I entered the Kyiv University of Culture, Faculty of Cinematography.
After graduation, I worked on television for a while. But after a while I realized that it was not my thing. I went freelance and worked as a director of photography at various productions, shooting movies, commercials, music videos and TV series.
For a very long time, I couldn't decide what I wanted to do most, feeling professional burnout.
The turning point was the shooting of a documentary in Israel where I was involved as a cameraman. I got a lot of inspiration and realized that I wanted to make documentaries, it was the only thing that allowed me to breathe freely. Since then, I have shot and am shooting many documentary projects, and I want to dedicate myself to documentary filmmaking in the future.
