Director Biography - Dheeraj Jindal

Dheeraj Jindal is a Director and Producer based out of Mumbai, India.

He started working in Delhi and later moved to Mumbai. In 2017, Dheeraj directed his debut short film- ‘The School Bag’, starring Rasika Duggal, which got selected at about 106 International Film festivals (including three Oscar Qualifying festivals) in 24 countries and has won 44 awards including Best director award in many festivals.

He further directed a few short films like ‘Vikalp’ having Neha Sharma and Anshul Chauhan in lead roles, which got released on Large Short Films. Another short film ‘PAASH’ having Abhishek Banrejee also got qualified for Academy awards 2020. One of his recent short film ‘Baj Gai Seeti’ starring Gulshan Grover, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Mayur More and Alam Khan is under Postproduction.

Apart from the above he produced a few short films as well, he recently produced Sorry Bhaisaab with Gauahar Khan and Sharib Hashmi for Amazon MiniTV. His first Marathi short film called ‘Anahut’ won Critics choice FilmFare Award, and won numerous awards in other festivals. Another film ‘Katran’ starring Piyush Mishra and Alka Amin also got selected around 34 film festivals and later released on Large Short Films. He also collaborated with a Pakistani Director and produced a short film called ‘Dry Leaves’, which is also doing its festival rounds and won almost 30 awards by now.

Presently he is also directing a Non fiction crime show called Indian Predator for Netflix Originals due for it’s release in mid 2022.
