Alexander Churchyard: Alex grew up in Southend on Sea and loved film from an early age. Alex went on to gain a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Film Production Technology and now work professionally as a video editor whilst also running the horror production company TIS Films Limited. Alex has had success on the festival scene with I Scream on the Beach which he co-directed.
Michael Fausti: Michael created Fausti Films in 2014 creating arthouse horror shorts and features with a flavour of surrealism, tinged with dark humour. His debut feature EXIT was released in 2020, and won numerous awards, including; The Audience Award For Best Feature at The Sick and Wrong Film Festival, and The Outstanding Thriller Award at The Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival.
Tom Lee Rutter: Based in the West Midlands; Tom Lee Rutter has been passionate about films and film-making from as far back as he can remember and crafts films in both feature length and short-form with a fiercely independent approach. His films have played festival circuits and have seen stateside distribution and specialises in works of horror, fantastical and the experimental. His award-winning featurette Bella In The Wych Elm (2017) garnered acclaim - appearing in books, magazines and as a listed item in the library of the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, Boscastle. Also a film writer, Tom writes reviews and retrospectives on films and film history – scribing for sites such as We Are Cult and magazines such as We Belong Dead. He has recently joined the team at import film specialists Film Treasures and their burgeoning boutique Bluray label Treasured Films to produce extras for their releases. As well as being set to tour alongside his collaborators with Video Shop Tales of Terror he is currently finishing his latest feature film The Pocket Film of Superstitions which features genre icons such as Caroline Munro and Lynn Lowry.
Alexander Churchyard: Video Shop Tales of Terror has been a labour of love for us. The project came to fruition when Singh Lall decided to create an anthology based around a video shop. TIS Films originally signed up for a segment alongside the other five directors, but later on Lall asked TIS to also write and direct the Video Dungeon wrap-around. We hope you enjoy what all our directors and other creative partners have come up with.
