Victory To The Mimers
A satirical Dramedy inspired by the infamous UK Miner’s strikes of the 1980s; however this time, the fight isn’t in the pits, but on the stage.
In this surreal, alternate vision of Britain, struggling actors and artists wage war against government cuts and cultural indifference, exposing the deep-rooted classism and underfunding plaguing the industry.
LOGLINE:
With his beloved family trade targeted by a right-wing government with a long-standing hatred for the arts, a Mime performer desperately rallies the troops for a silent revolution, vowing to save the art form from facing the final curtain.

His work has gained nominations at the UKMVAs and Berlin Commercial, "Best New Director" nominations at Kinsale, 4 x Promax Awards (with 7 x nominations), along with various selections and awards at numerous BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals, including Raindance, LSFF and many more.
Even with it being a slightly absurd comedy drama, this story is incredibly personal for me.
Being from a working class background, from a small town with no opportunities, I always felt like I didn’t belong in the TV and Film industries.
I've also felt the brunt of the severe underfunding that the Arts industry receives, thanks to repeated attacks by various right wing governments in the UK.
In regards to the titular pun that our film draws inspiration from, I personally have direct family historical ties to the Mining community, so this film is one I'm deeply passionate about, directly appealing to both my sense of humour and my left-wing beliefs.
It was funded privately; with myself, my Producer and our Executive Producer providing the entire budget ourselves.
This film was a mammoth undertaking, and we suffered tragic setbacks during production.
My Father fell ill during production, and passed away on the 3rd day of our shoot, which of course threw the entire project into uncertainty and deeply affected my mental health.
However, I wanted nothing more than to do him proud, as he was so excited to see how things turned out, so we finished it.
This film is for him.
