Chadwick Hopson is a filmmaker, in all aspects of the word, from Flagstaff, Arizona. He co-founded the production company The Knights Young Productions (TKY) with his childhood friend, Brain Flaccus. Collaboratively and individually, he’s penned three produced feature films under the TKY banner, over ten short films, directed a handful of award-winning short films, and co-directed a virtual reality feature film with Amaze VR titled The Cabin Stay. On the acting front, he’s been recognized for his leading roles in the features How We Met (2016), Alex & Jaime (2017), and won Best Leading Actor at the Utah Film Awards in the critically acclaimed film, The Last Descent (2018). He’s also made appearances on the television program Blackish (ABC) and Days of Our Lives (NBC). He can be seen in the upcoming feature, which he co-wrote, titled Band Name, which will release in the fall of 2023.
He is represented by Christopher Johnson at Imperfect Media.
Vesper has been a labor of love, as are most short films done on a grocery list budget, but we aimed for that to be an illusion. A collection of close and talented friends embarked on the challenge of making a ‘pandemic-esque’ short that just makes you feel fucking good and doesn’t remind you of the four-wall-limitations we all had to endure while creating on microbudgets recently. During the past couple of years, couples and love have been tested by uninvited proximity, forcing many of us to live inside our heads whenever we need to escape quietly. This is a remarkable human trait that, if perfected, inhibits what we decide to invite into reality for the other incredibly human feature, fear. Fear of the inability to anticipate or control the most important thing to all of us, and that’s love. This film is a reminder of what the good times felt like and a gentle reminder that you should always say how you feel because we all feel the truth anyway, and more often than not, you’ll be greeted with love in return.
