Vera Kayh, currently studying film directing at the Film Adacemy Baden-Württemberg since 2020, is continuing her studies in Buenos Aires at UCINE in 2023 supported by the Baden-Württemberg sponsorship.
Previously, she was engaged as an actress at the Theater Krefeld and Moenchengladbach, for a duration of three years.
Here she had the possibility and great pleasure to work with many talented and renown directors, such as Dedi Baron, Rafat Alzakout and Ulrich Cyran. She was particularly thankful for the phenomenal experience of visiting Shingal (South Kurdistan, Iraq) in 2019, as part of an educational research expedition, concerning the rehearsals and performance of the play “Jin Jiyan”.
In 2020, Vera was awarded the Joachim Fontheim Prize for the Promotion of Young Artists.
During her time in Krefeld, besides working at the city theater, Vera quickly began exploring the local independent cultural scene, engaging in work primarily behind the camera. Thus, producing her own short films "Majnun", "we all live in", "Fortune Cookies" and a music video for "Meermenschen".
In 2017 Vera received her Bachelor Degree Of Arts in Acting at the HMDK Stuttgart, while simultaneously debuting as Anne Frank in the monodrama "Anne Frank - the diary of a young girl", which premiered at the Bad Vilbel Festival.
Early on in her career, Vera already became acquainted with the Film Academy BW, being an actress in several (short-)films and taking part in a screen acting workshop.
In between high school and university, Vera worked as an assistant director at the Schauspielbuehnen Stuttgart, the Theaterhaus Stuttgart e.V. and the ADK Ludwigsburg.
