Velo Love
This dialogue-free stop-motion film tells the story of two bicycles that fall in love while parked outside a café, where their riders stop each morning for coffee. They realize that, to stay together, they must get their humans to fall in love. Despite missteps and obstacles, they keep trying.

Sam Méndez, a director with 18 years of experience in stop motion animation, is a co-founder of Hobby Creative Studio in Guadalajara. Sam has directed around 200 audiovisusal productions, including TV advertising, short films and animated series with clients such as Warner Brothers and Ford, and is currently the only Latin American to co-direct a music video for the band The Doors.
Carlos Cruz is a Salvadoran/Mexican filmmaker and photographer who has worked for 20+ years in commercials, music videos, and independent productions. He has collaborated with artists from labels and brands such as Warner Music, Sony, and EMI. He now lives in Seattle, and is a video producer and photographer at KEXP for their Live Sessions.
Carlos and Sam met on a film set back in 2013, and their love for similar films and anime led them to collaborate on multiple music videos and commercials. They intended to make a short film. When the Velo script reached them they immediately loved the story because the script's message resonated with both creators personally.
