Owlchemy Labs is a creative studio with a passion for polished and unique VR experiences and games. Founded in 2010 and based out of Austin, TX, we believe that interaction and using your hands is what truly makes virtual reality the most incredible place to build unique content that blows players minds. We love building experiences oozing with style and full to the brim with our unique brand of humor. Our work includes the award-winning VR triple launch title “Job Simulator”, the Emmy-nominated “Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality”, and our latest VR title “Vacation Simulator”.

The world of Vacation Island is a sandbox for players to explore, discover, and create in. The medium of virtual reality demands a respect for player agency to be reflected in VR experiences. We seek to ignite joy, creativity, and playfulness in our players. Vacation Simulator is an invitation to everyone to discover the full potential of VR through the lens of their own, lived experience within our world.
From the depth of our hand-tracked physics interactions to innovations in spatial storytelling and character interaction, we expanded on virtually every aspect of our previous games and dove deep into our systems to create a rich, interactive world. Objects and systems that players interact with in one zone can be taken to another, with seemingly endless possibilities for interaction.
We want players to feel like they are part of a world and completely immerse themselves in it. We encourage our players to explore possibilities and push boundaries in VR with a sense of childlike joy in their creative play. There are no mistakes, you 'vacation' your own way.
