Experiencing Interruptions?

VERTIGO

« To silence the words or say them, read them or write them,
find the balance of free words ».
Following her first two films SILK and SLY, the choreograph and director Sylvie Kay creates an « Hymn to Life » through a creative immersion in Jeremy Kay’s Art Work titled VERTIGO.

Sylvie Kay’s starting point and important reflexion was : « How to make this art work dance like a human, keeping a visual original aspect and treatment ? How to marry dance with painting telling a real « love story » of this « Woman Conductor » dropped in the texture of this art piece ?

In the solitude of this big rehearsing studio, huge black space, the dancer dares to open the doors… shadows of her soul just above her. This colorful resin painting enters slowly, lending her a hand, becoming friend, speaking the same langage with humor and clumsiness all along carried by the music.

The magic of this trio dance-music-painting brings a freedom of movement and expression ! The shapes are moving ! The vibrant colors chase the tension away ! The vibrating transparency of red and purple brings the dance to a powerful state of energy, and to a life of pleasure !

A funny, tender, arrogant and androgynous character invites you to travel with her. Thank to CND Lyon for the support of the company Sylvie Kay.
JEREMY KAY Resin Artist
Jeremy Kay is a French born resin artist, currently based in Byron Bay Australia. Using an intuitive, free flowing style to create abstract shapes in resin. Inspired by his earlier career as a DJ and many years travelling internationally, Kay’s resin art reflects an enthusiasm for life, living, adventure and the vibrancy of life. Leaving his viewers in a state of wonder and amazement. Personally I found abstract and interactive art to be my favorite style. I want to create an experience where the public is led toward an altered state, I like to push everyone to question the meaning of the art, to take a guess and then question their own interpretation. Why? Simply because this is first step toward enlightenment, but also it’s fun!
IGOR DVORKIN Composer
Igor Dvorkin is an established multi-genre composer and songwriter living in London, whose music can be heard on TV shows like Law and Under: SVU, House of Anubis, Coronation Street, Neighbours, Spooks, Silent Witness, New Tricks and David Attenborough documentaries; and advertising campaigns for brands such as Volvo, Vodafone, Barclay’s and Bird’s Eye. His music has been recorded by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English Session Orchestra; and commercially released on compilations alongside artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Adiemus, Elton John, Coldplay and Phillip Glass. In May 2021 Sylvie Kay discovered his music. She felt like a click and it’s the beginning of a real artistic inspiration. He wrote « Massive thanks to Sylvie Kay for turning my music into a real art », recognizing in Sylvie Kay’s visual achievements a real original artistic touch and style.
