Jana is an actor, writer, director, and general workhorse in film, television & theatre.
She's been telling stories for as long as she can remember. She grew up writing and performing plays in Cape Breton, NS.
During her final year of her BFA in Theatre Acting from Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland in Corner Brook she wrote her first screenplay, "Must Be a Zombie Apocalypse" for the St. John's International Women's Film Festival's inaugural FRAMED West program. The short comedy screened at the Halifax Independent Film Festival in 2013 & various Sci Fi Conventions in Atlantic Canada -AtlantiCon (Corner Brook, NL), SciFi on the Rock (St. John's, NL), and HalCon (Halifax, NS).
Up Close & Personal is her next big adventure.
I wanted to capture that feeling and uncertainty of fully committing to another human being. These two people are everything to each other in this moment. It doesn't matter how they got there or where they'll end up, in this moment everything is beautiful.
I want to share stories and try to figure out why people do the things that they do. I want to inspire laughter and thought.
