Director Biography - Andy Hui

I am Andy, I've been creating videos & films since I was 15 in High School for inter-school competitions, thinking that was the end of it. I was lucky enough to enrol in Lasalle's diploma course in broadcast media, pushing my creativity and igniting the dream of producing and directing videos & films. I soon found myself in National Service, helping with their media team with their social media post and eventually managing their accounts. Now I am back to Lasalle's Film degree, hoping to pursue further this dream of mine of being a video creator/filmmaker.

Director Statement

When I was serving my mandatory national service, waking up earlier than most and going home at odd timings, I would often bump into a few rough sleepers, resting at the bus interchange. Which sparked at thought in my head, how did they end up in such situation and why ain’t they doing something to get themselves out of such situation. Wanting to understand their stories, When I was given the chance to work on a documentary, I knew I wanted to spend my resources on trying to get a small understanding of what their live may be.
