Unmasked
Ostend, a city that both draws in and repels artists, is often perceived as an uncanny place. Themes of alienation and self-deprecation are ever-present, echoing through the city's past and present. Xavier Tricot, a multifaceted artist, curator, and historian deeply invested in Ostend’s artistic heritage, finds himself captivated by this duality. As he delves into the letters of Ensor, the city's eternal conflict is brought to the forefront. Surrounded by the masked figures of carnival, we journey deeper into Ensor's world, where the lines between reality and fantasy become increasingly blurred.
