Director Statement

The primary goal of Unframed is to capture the richness and diversity of Lebanon's cultural scene through intimate, personal storytelling. By focusing on the individual experiences of artists, the series highlights their work, motivations, and challenges. The format follows a "day in the life" approach, offering viewers a deep look into both the personal and professional worlds of these creators.

Spanning a wide range of disciplines, Unframed showcases Lebanon-based creativity by profiling artists across varied age groups, socio-economic backgrounds, and artistic fields—from traditional to new wave. Beyond its online distribution, Unframed will feature public screenings paired with exhibitions of the artists' work, attended by the artists themselves. These events aim to foster dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration, creating a space for artistic exchange and cultural growth.

Through its public screenings, exhibitions, and online platform, Unframed seeks to bridge the gap between audiences and artists, fostering a deeper connection to Lebanon's underrepresented creative voices. The series is not just a celebration of the arts, but also an exploration of how Lebanon’s resilience shapes its vibrant artistic landscape.
