Dana A. Hughes, has worked throughout Michigan as a professional broadcast radio personality and television commentator for over twenty years. She has taught broadcast communications for post-secondary and secondary schools for nearly seventeen years. Some of her previous jobs includes Media Communications Instructor for Detroit Public Schools, Adjunct Professor for Audio Production at Lawrence Technological University; as well as, TV & Radio Advisor – Audio Instructor at Specs Howard School of Media Arts, located in Southfield, MI. Additionally, Dana has years of experience as a professional broadcast journalist, voice-over artist, commercial scriptwriting, videographer, producer, and digital editor.
Dana has earned a Bachelors of Arts in English from Michigan State University in 1994 and a Masters in Teaching from Wayne State University in 2011. She also maintains teaching certificates in Secondary English, Vocational Technical and an Occupational Education Certificate in Radio & TV Production.
Currently, she works as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program Consultant for the Office of Career and Technical Education; an agency of the Michigan Department of Education. Some of her duties include managing statewide Arts, A/V, and Communication programs in secondary schools.
Dana still finds time to mentor young people and works locally as a freelancer in media!
