Under Reflex

Danilo Termite, italian actor / writer / director born on 1 March 1977 in Gioia del Colle (Bari), lived mainly in Massafra (Taranto).
The ranks of the young Termite began with theatrical experiences.
He wrote, directed and acted in some brilliant comedies ("Heaven can wait”, "A saturday in Puglia") and participated in some shows with Graziano Galatone (Phoebus in the musical "Notre Damme de Paris"), Uccio De Santis, Manuel & Manuel.
Meanwhile he continued his studies and after completing high school, Termite wanted to proceed with his acting carreer, but the family was not in favor of his choice, instead they forced him to go to the University for law.

After completing fourteen exams at the University, in 1999 he moved to Rome and with the little money he had, he managed to enroll himself at the "Giovan Battista Diotaiuti Theatrical Conservatory" where he began to study acting.
Meanwhile he struggled doing side jobs to survive. During that time Danilo wrote several drafts and scripts and also composed the main theme of the soundtrack of one of these movies, a drama/action.

After 2 years in Rome, Termite came back to Massafra for 3 months, after which he moved to Turin to attend the Holden School by Alessandro Baricco, where he studied screenplay writing and acquired elements of directing and commercials screen writing. In the meantime, he competed to Solinas Prize with one of his screenplay and partecipated to some castings.

In 2003 he came back to Taranto and then attended some acting workshops, including the Proskenion Stage with the teachers Enzo Garinei and Fioretta Mari.
In 2004 he produced, wrote, directed and starred in the short movie "Il Metronotte" (The Night watchman), introspective-psychological genre short film, low budget, distributed on home video in the province of Taranto and Bari; in the 2006 "Il Metronotte" got semifinalist at the Rome International Film Festival in the section "Tregisti".

In 2005 Termite wrote and directed the documentary "La Madonna della Stella".

In the next years Termite directed and starred in "Under Reflex", a drama feature film.

Meanwhile, he got back studying law and graduated in 2009.

The production of "Under Reflex" took years to complete its final version and final cut.
The first version of the film was selected in 2010 in competition at the 64th Salerno International Film Festival, competing with the biggest directors of the Italian movie industry like Gabriele Salvatores, Paolo Virzi, Aurelio Grimaldi, etc. After that, he worked as screenplay writer and director for some music videos like the Trailer of the cd “Sud Foundation Kartoons” by the rap/hiphop/ska band Sud Foundation Krù (SFK), as well as the song "Quartiere" (Neighborhood), finalist in the competition "Videoclip d'Oro (Golden Music Video) - Italian Music Video Awards" and the song "Again", taken from the same cd by Sud Foundation Krù.

Termite continued working hard towards his final version of Under Reflex that was accomplished on August 2015.

The final version of the movie got official selection to prestigious International Film Festivals: * UNDER REFLEX * Official Selection to the 64th SALERNO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in Italy that is the third most ancient film festival of the world (21 films selected in the competition section among over 950 movies submitted from all around the world. UNDER REFLEX has been officially selected with famous movies such as "Benvenuti al sud" by director Luca Miniero starring Claudio Bisio and Alessandro Siani and directors winners of prestigious film festival such as Aureliano Amidei director of the film "20 Sigarette" winner at International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art of Venice - Venice Film Festival) and movies directed by many big names such as Gabriele Salvatores (with the movie "Happy Family"), Paolo Virzì (with the movie "La Prima Cosa Bella"), Aurelio Grimaldi (with the movie "L'Ultimo Re"), Nico Cirasola (with the movie "Focaccia Blues"), etc . UNDER REFLEX also has been Official Selection to the EURO LOS ANGELES FILM FESTIVAL, through that also Officially Selected and Included in THE BIG HOUSE OF ENTERTAINMENT OF LOS ANGELES I.F.P. - INDEPENDENT FILM PLAYOFF, the Only Worldwide Championship of Independent Movies coming from 9 different Film Festivals from Los Angeles area. Official Selection to the FINOW FILM FESTIVAL/WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION MARKET in GERMANY, where has been the only movie Officially Selected in the "Distribution & Sales Agents Section". Official Selection to the US-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Through the Official Selection to the US-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL "Under Reflex" has been Officially Included in the US-HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL FILM TOUR and candidated to the GOLDEN FILM AWARDS. Over hundreds entrants around the world submitted their films for consideration for USHIFF Golden Film Awards. Of the submitted films/screenplay/music, about 28 were selected to be shown during the International Film Tour and I'm very proud to announce that UNDER REFLEX is in this elite list and has been screened to worldwide audience within the 2015-2016 USHIFF US-Hollywood International Film Festival International Film Tour.

In 2016 Danilo Termite wrote and directed the short film "Ore 0,00" (TIME 0.00), audiovisual poetic work taken from the poetry of the same name by the author Francesco Silvestri taken from his book titled "Poesie modulari... a tempo" (Timed...modular poetries), edited and published by Scorpione Editrice.
