Un-spoken words of a Heartist - Je suis née dans un chaos
Un-spoken Words of a Heartist – Je suis née dans un chaos is a short film written, created, and produced by Nadine Baboy, in collaboration with director Muhiba Botan.
This poetic work blends dance and spoken word. In the midst of chaos, words become movement — a glimpse of hope for humanity in search of purpose and identity. One word is enough to reveal the essential and breathe new life into a world forced to hold its breath.
Through this work, Nadine Baboy invites us to believe that even when surrounded by chaos, light can rise.
And what if what seems like an end is really just the beginning?

Nadine Baboy is a Heartist with a passion for the performing arts and storytelling. She is passionate about writing and telling stories with her artistic languages: poetry, dance, writing, theater, music, and singing.
Inspired by artistic and cultural crossbreeding, she creates, writes, directs, and choreographs powerful dance poetry works including the dance-theater pieces Terre Riche (2016), Désintégration Culturelle ( Prix Brussels Bijou 2017), and Un Nouveau Souffle (2020). In 2021, she created and produced her first short film Un-spoken words of a Heartist - Je suis née dans un chaos.
Her creations carry a committed message and link her African roots with her European influences. Her poetic pen is staged in an original creation and remains the common thread in each of her stage and audiovisual works.
Muhiba Botan (Somalia, 1988), is a visual artist. She holds a master’s degree in visual arts with a focus on photography from LUCA School of Arts in Genk, Belgium, and she currently resides and works in Antwerp. Her work explores gender, race, and identity. As a child of refugees, she is acutely aware of the intersection between these subjects and how this impacts the social, political, and cultural issues faced by the diaspora. Her work focuses on the way we perceive each other and ourselves in society, and the causes, effects, and consequences of these views. By examining, dissecting, reimagining, and reconstructing them, she invites the viewer to do the same.
I define myself as a storyteller with a passion for poetry, dance, and music.
Un-spoken words of a Heartist is based on an autobiographical poem I wrote on my birthday.
We don't choose our birth, we don't choose the context or the conditions of our birth. We can be born in a chaotic context, but this chaos does not define our identity. My vision with this short film is to bring a message of hope.
This film is an invitation to believe that in the midst of chaos something beautiful, great, and majestic can emerge. In the midst of chaos, light can emerge and shine. The same place that seems to be a place of suffering, a place of stripping that indicates the end, can in reality be the beginning of a new life, a new birth.
