Experiencing Interruptions?

URANIA

Urania is one of the nine Muses in Greek mythology, specifically the Muse of astronomy. She’s the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and is associated with universal love and the ability to foretell the future by the arrangement of constellations.

We can call upon Urania in our pursuit for celestial knowledge and exploration of the stars.✨

Urania reflects my deep fascination with the interconnectedness of humanity, the cosmos, and spiritual exploration. Inspired by Urania, the Muse of Astronomy, this piece delves into themes of celestial connection, personal transformation, and the shared longing to understand our place in the universe. Through music I created, alongside a film and photographic concept I developed, I sought to craft an immersive experience that bridges the earthly and the celestial. The imagery, amplified by Runway, further enhances the visual narrative, inviting viewers to reflect on the mysteries of existence, both vast and intimate.

In my interpretation, the bear and falcon are central to Urania's story, symbolising a balance between grounded wisdom and elevated vision. These symbols are not tied to any one tradition but rather represent universal qualities that resonate across cultures and perspectives. The bear embodies strength, courage, and introspection, grounding us while fostering renewal. The falcon, by contrast, represents vision, freedom, and the pursuit of higher understanding, offering clarity and inspiration to soar beyond earthly concerns. Together, these symbols celebrate the harmony between personal growth and the infinite possibilities of exploration.

The project draws deeply on personal experiences, particularly out-of-body journeys that have brought moments of healing and liberation. These journeys are preceded by a euphoric state that creates a sense of untethering from the physical body. This exhilarating sensation served as the inspiration for the music production, through which I aimed to convey a feeling of effervescent energy and unbound freedom, capturing the joyous and transformative essence of these astral experiences.

With Urania, I hope to inspire viewers and listeners to reflect on their own journeys through love, transformation, and the cosmos, finding unity between the seen and the unseen, the grounded and the infinite.
