UOMO ONDA by Samuel Di Blasi
On the riverbank, a samurai now without a master reflects on his past battles and decides to abandon his armor. Through this symbolic gesture, he merges with the surrounding nature, seeking to dissolve himself and become one with the aquatic element that surrounds him.
The original story and the film were inspired by and using the artwork "UOMO ONDA" by Samuel Di Blasi, a sculpture specially created by the artist for the exhibition during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games

Sam's Work
His monumental works describe the connection between man and nature, freezing these two universes in a single frame, creating metaphysical worlds linked to dreams.
"I like representing water using fire because they are two opposing yet vital elements. I use photography to capture the inspiration I see and the beauty that will lead to the realization of the work. I grew up surrounded by my father's artistic and photographic passion and my grandfather's super 8 films and video montages."
Samuel Di Blasi utilizes short film techniques to represent the inexpressible in words and considers himself a visual sculptor, a creator of worlds that can be traversed.
"Often, we observe forms that do not want to be a description of themselves but simply be something resembling something else, like the idea of seeing a cloud and wanting to climb it."
