Ultravalvola, a former antenna repairman, keeps watch over a remote radio and television transmission centre nestled deep within the rugged mountains of southern Italy. Surrounded by snow, wildfires and ghostly apparitions, he connects with lost voices and memories drifting through the ether. Ultravalvola is a dreamlike tribute to vanished utopias, fragmented identities, and faint signals that still echo through time.

Ultravalvola, un ex riparatore di antenne, sorveglia un remoto centro di trasmissione radiotelevisiva situato nel cuore delle aspre montagne dell'Italia meridionale. Circondato dalla neve, dagli incendi boschivi e da apparizioni spettrali, entra in contatto con voci perdute e ricordi che vagano nell'etere. Ultravalvola è un tributo onirico alle utopie svanite, alle identità frammentate e ai deboli segnali che ancora riecheggiano nel tempo.

Director Biography - Giacinto Cerviere

Giacinto Cerviere is an Italian architect, visual artist and filmmaker. His work explores identity, temporality and the political presence of bodies within marginal and post-industrial landscapes. Drawing on architecture, cinema, and visual theory, he examines the spatial impact of cultural and technological change. His films and installations have been selected for international festivals and form part of his ongoing research into territorial aesthetics, utopia, and infrastructural memory.

Giacinto Cerviere è un architetto, artista visivo e regista italiano. Il suo lavoro esplora l'identità, la temporalità e la presenza politica dei corpi all'interno di paesaggi marginali e post-industriali. Attingendo all'architettura, al cinema e alla teoria visiva, esamina l'impatto spaziale del cambiamento culturale e tecnologico. I suoi film e le sue installazioni sono stati selezionati per festival internazionali e fanno parte della sua ricerca in corso sull'estetica territoriale, l'utopia e la memoria infrastrutturale.
