Two Guys Walk Into a Bar is slapstick with all of the slaps and sticks at their slappiest and stickiest. Not many comedy shows these days indulge themselves in absolute absurdity, yet the classics remain just as funny today — Looney Tunes, Buster Keaton, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Peter Bogdanovich’s “What’s Up, Doc?”, to name a few. We love these stories. Their absurdity takes our minds fully off of the absurdity of reality — or satirizes it. Few moments miss a punchline. The punchlines build. Chaos ensues. Disaster is always impending. Yet, there is no real fear because we can still expect the joke in the worst of situations. It is a new way to look at life, full of big laughs and witty truths. This is slapstick. This is Two Guys Walk Into a Bar.
