TRUE EMOTIONS
In this extremely low-budget film almost entirely produced from one man's phone, Shaun Villafana invites us to travel with him on a journey of self-awareness, empathy and human emotional understanding. Through a medley of short-framed epilogue and filmed over a series through three-years of documentation, Shaun Villafana shares his truth as a question - and a challenge. Fun, inspiring and profound—True Emotions is definitely a film for those with the eyes to see and the ears to hear.

Born and raised in Maui, Hawaii until the age of fifteen where he moved to San Jose California, Shaun Villafana began his spiritual/psychological journey of awakening at the age of 28 when his mother went mysteriously missing.
This film brings back a lot of memories. I think the overall point to make here is that this is not a "sob story". With empathy comes a deeper depth of emotional understanding and a higher sense of awareness than is possibly achieved without.
Both the lessons from life and the understandings of experiences which we aim to share and presented for others become entirely meaningless if another cannot emotionally put themselves in your shoes.
It's a shame when we can't -but it's a gross travesty when we fail to even try.
It's where we fail by lack of effort that we fail one another.
The least we can ever hope to do with retaining dignity is to do our very best.
