Hesam Dehghani is an award-winning independent film director from Iran. He is the writer and director of several successful short and documentary films.

"Trauma: The Darkest Side" is his first feature film.

Director Statement

We all have experienced negative feelings such as despair or anger. But what if we let these feelings to overcome us? What are the consequences?

My film is comprised of 5 episodes, each one about a feeling that goes too far. The stories are independent from each other but they are connected with a thin string. All stories have a thriller/mystery theme and all have some type of twist in the end.

It took me one year to complete this film. For the first episode we traveled to one of the most unique locations in Iran: The Ghost lake (in north of the country, on a mountain top) and for the 4th episode we traveled to the south, Qeshm Island in Persian Gulf. That was difficult but I think it was all worth it.
