Experiencing Interruptions?

Transendencia

Transendencia is my HSC Video Drama, which was nominated for OnStage in 2025.

This short film explores the impact of the Uruguayan Great war (Guerra Grande, 1839–1851) on a young girl and how those experiences followed her throughout her life. The story is narrated through the perspective of her older self as she reflects on everything she lived through.

The film is in Spanish with English subtitles because it felt truer to the story’s roots. With my own Uruguayan background, this project means a lot to me, especially knowing my grandparents lived through part of the war. Creating this piece was my way of honouring their experiences and the strength they carried.
