Director Biography - Kaelan Roddy

Kaelan Roddy is an 18-year-old graduate of O’Neill CVI’s Performing Arts Program in Vocal and Drama. He is currently entering his first year at York University, pursuing a Bachelor of Cinema and Media Studies – Production.

This summer, Kaelan wrote and directed To See It All, a deeply personal film that reflects on the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another. The project brought together friends, collaborators, and fellow artists, whose contributions shaped every aspect of the film—from music and artwork to performance and production support.

For Kaelan, To See It All represents the culmination of four years of growth, creativity, and community. It stands as both a farewell to high school and a step toward a future in filmmaking.

Director Statement

To See It All is a film I wrote this summer. It is, as every filmmaker says, quite a personal project – one that I created as a “goodbye” to this last chapter of my life. By no exaggeration, To See It All feels like a culmination of everything that the past four years have given me.
My high school friends – Mateo, Jada, Jennica, Bolu, Ava, Malcolm, Kayleigh, Kenzie, Ovia, Sofia, Naiya, Emma, and Aynaz – along with my vocal student, Scarlett, her sister, Abbey, and friend, Fallyn- made this film with me.
Jada wrote the beautiful music that Jennica’s voice brought to life- Mateo offered technical and creative support in every aspect- Aynaz transformed my rough line sketches into the artwork that proudly sits at the center of my poster- All of my actors brought character, laughs, ideas, and joy to the set and filmmaking process- Everyone helped with my ridiculous requests (like putting people 20 feet up in trees)- And countless friends and supporters inspired me to pursue this project in the first place.
In every sense, this film is the culmination of what we’ve built together over these last four years.
A massive thank-you to everyone who came out tonight, assisted in this small student festival, shared their films, and supported all of my ideas and the future I want to pursue.
