Persephone Dunn (They/he) is a queer filmmaker based in Richmond, Virginia. They wrote "To My Love, As You Sleep" and shot it in collaboration with their partner. Their directorial feature debut "Nymphs on Granite Rock" is set to debut in late 2024.

Director Statement

While away on vacation, I wrote my partner a love letter while watching the sunrise come up over the lake. The same thought kept running through my mind: “everything beautiful makes me think of you.” That statement is the essence of this film. Queer love is so inexplicably raw and pure, it comes with a level of trust and understanding that isn’t easy to find. I asked her to write this film with me, to help me showcase what it means to be trans and in love, to see yourself in your lover and see parts of them in you. Our collective experiences blossomed into this beautiful film, my visual love letter to the one who sees me best.
