Director Statement

Timeless is a film designed to make people remember, connect, and feel. We made this film to tell an emotional love story, but more than that, we made it so people can remember the meaning and value of life. Love can be simple, and in a way, this story is very personal since it started with friendship in its creation, and friendship is what carried the production through. As well, the entire cast and crew has a deep love for old films, classic romance, and stories that leave you deep in thought. The idea was inspired by a WWII love letter Emma Sumlin discovered at an antique store in Denton, TX. It was full of longing and struggle, bravery and determination. We wanted to write a story that reflected that, knowing these things really happened and these feelings were really felt. What makes Timeless different from every other WWII love story is the presentation, in that it looks and feels like an old, silent film, and the way the narrative so gently increases in tragedy as if one is boiling a frog.
