Director Biography - Parnika Raj

Parnika is a South Asian Canadian filmmaker driven to unearth narratives often overlooked.

Parnika finds her muse in relationships, whether romantic or platonic, and finds her stories deeply guided by themes like identity, resilience and generational change.

She is currently working on her short film Timeless, which explores the fabric of intergenerational trauma, the unspoken burdens carried by immigrant families and the personal quest for identity amidst cultural dichotomy. Timeless marks her first foray into vulnerable narrative storytelling, bringing to screen a story deeply personal to her.

Parnika's background in production originates from the commercial world. She has worked with notable clients including Nike, Sephora, IKEA, Drake, DJ Khaled, Google Pixel, and Mercedes AMG featuring will.i.am.

Across commercials, documentaries and narratives, Parnika’s indomitable spirit continues to redefine cinematic landscapes, enriching each frame with her distinctive perspective.
