"Time is a loop", I wish
A personal poetic film composed of hybrid media of 16mm and motion graphics.
“When I was little, time was slow and I thought I could catch time...Now I made a wish.” The filmmaker transcribes feelings on time and loss with toys, wobbly cradle Balance Balls, and light and shadow.

Yue Hua/华越 is a passionate and versatile artist and filmmaker, who focuses on visual storytelling and inter-media artwork. She makes short films, narrative films, paintings, and inter-media artwork.
Born and raised in China, she has a strong interest in art at a very young age. She studied paint and entered the China Academy of Art for her BFA to study film and advertisement. Her painting work and film work join several exhibitions during that time. In 2021, Yue came to the United States to pursue her dream to become an artist and filmmaker and to achieve an MFA degree at Emerson College. Passion and love is the main resource she gains inspiration.

Compared with traditional filmmaking, the film is more like a childish experiment, a unique process of creation.
I shot the 16mm footage intuitively, wrote the text separately, and finally put them together in post-production. In the repeated edits, I am looking for intertextuality within elements. At some point, it works. Words, images, and sounds, each element is self-contained and interact with each other. The single medium is extended, creating a sense of flux.
