Time Waits For No One

"Time Waits For No One"

A cinematic memento mori inspired by our times.

A 36 Minute Film By Ramzi Abed

What is time? What is space? What is life? What about death? What is our role between these interrelated concepts? Directly inspired by the filmmaker's own self-imposed exile during the Coronavirus Pandemic era of 2020 to 2021, a non-verbal story unfolds through sound and picture as we move through liminal spaces and brooding seasons. Filmed over a three and a half year period in multiple states geographically and psychologically, this immersive and hallucinatory audio-visual journey celebrates a sense of both meditation and rebirth. Its primary focus is on nature and our place in it, as the film reaches its sunny conclusion with the promise of a new day... A new era that embraces both entropy and mystery.

Director Biography - Ramzi Abed

Ramzi Abed is a human film & video director, cinematographer, actor, performer and visual artist based on Planet Earth.

He has worked in & around the entertainment industry for over 25 years.

His film, The Devil's Muse (starring Kristen Kerr, Gidget Gein, Cinque Lee), streamed on Netflix for two years and was distributed by Cinetic Rights Management, Gunpowder and Sky, and Halo 8 Entertainment respectively in digital & home video formats. It is now streaming at TromaNow. His experimental reality-based thriller, Telephone World (starring Elissa Dowling), was released on home video by Cinema Epoch and is currently streaming on Tubi.
Ramzi recently directed the music video for "A Free Society", the title song from the debut album by Night Crickets, a jazzy post-punk supergroup comprised of David J Haskins (of Bauhaus, Love and Rockets) and Victor De Lorenzo (of Violent Femmes) and renowned musician, Darwin Meiners. Abed's film work has been distributed and also screened at numerous film festivals over the years. His short film, The Tunnel, was edited by renowned filmmaker, David Lowery (A Ghost Story, The Green Knight), and starred co-writer Casey Wickson, Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger), and Mark Borchardt (American Movie, Coven). The Super 16mm film went on to screen at many festivals all over the world.

Abed's newest award-winning feature films are First Person Savior and Let Love In.

First Person Savior stars John Karyus (A Blind Bargain, Foxfur, V/H/S/2), James Duval (Nowhere, Donnie Darko, Sushi Girl), Dawn Wirth, Erica Libonati and Chad Meisenheimer; and is about and inspired by gun violence and video games in modern America. Let Love In stars Victoria De Mare (The Beast Inside, The Rideshare Killer, Killjoy 3), Sophia Jade (Killer Looks) and Ramzi Abed (Muse, Samurai Cop 2), and is about overcoming shame and finding love within the world of adult films.

His very latest cinematic works are the comedic but poignant documentary feature film, I Am An Alien (starring the late great LA legend, Dennis Woodruff along with iconic indie filmmaker and actor, Mark Borchardt), which in turn is in some ways a tribute to the film, My Dinner With Andre... And also the new long short film, Time Waits For No One, which is purely experimental and marks a distinct departure from the filmmaker's usual more narrative-style work.

"The Devil's Muse", "In A Spiral State", "Telephone World", "First Person Savior" and "I Am An Alien" are now all available on various streaming platforms including Tubi, Bloodstream, Fawesome, Hoopla, YouTube, Filmzie, FlixHouse, TromaNow, Xumo and GooglePlay.

Abed also launched a YouTube channel in late 2026.

Director Statement

I have always been fascinated by the concept of the memento mori, and wanted to one day explore this concept in a movie of some kind. In 2020, I felt frozen in time. The world was ending in slow motion. It was the pandemic. It was 2020. The entire world began going through a massive tonal shift. I wanted to document it in my own intuitive and dream-inspired way. This is a testament to life itself and all of its inherent mysteries locked between the concepts of time and space. I was also deeply inspired by a number of films and TV shows including "Cosmos", "Planet Earth" and the silent but transcendent films, "Koyaanisqatsi" and "Electroma" (by Daft Punk). This project is both incredibly personal as well as for absolutely everyone.
