Mia Golden, is a Jamaican-born Canadian writer, director, actor, and producer, whose background as a counsellor and understanding of human behaviour allows her to delve deep into her subjects. She is a producer on a variety of productions ranging from the award-winning feature comedy Jackhammer (E One Films 2014) to factual series, the short documentary film Penny Girl (Empress Avenue Media 2019), the feature film Fragile Seeds (2021) which she also wrote, and short films Ginny's Enterprise (2023), The Man on the Bus (2023) and the award winning short, Blood Buddies (2022). The short film Closing Walls (2022) which she directed is in the festival circuit. She is in pre-production for her next short film which she wrote and will be directing in April titled A Beautiful Peace.
The short documentary Tied To A Lie (2022) which she directed is now completed and ready for the festival circuit, and feature length documentary Tug Of War which she directed is in post. Mia has just begun working on her next documentary.
My hope with this film is to raise awareness of the realities of exploitation of youth, how prevalent it is and that it may help to prevent harm to others.
