Director Biography - Garrett Hopkins

Small town fella from a riverside village in Ohio. Pursued filmmaking in college at Ohio University. Pursued many crafts in production while in two film clubs over the four years. Worked on award winning films leading to international film festivals. Graduated during the 2020 Covid pandemic. Plans to move to Los Angeles were halted. Worked as a freelance videographer/editor for two years in Ohio, saved up and moved out west in 2022.

Currently living and working in LA. Working as a tour guide at Warner Bros Studios. Always casting a net for more connections. Spending every month collaborating on short films for competitions, passion projects, and contracted client work. The goal in filmmaking is to Educate, Entertain, and Enlighten.

Director Statement

This script was written around the quote “Freedom is something that dies, if it isn't used.” -Hunter S. Thompson

There’re a lot of things that can tie someone down. A job, family, legal problems, etc… I believe one of the most relatable things is a relationship. One in which you aren’t sure you even want to be in, but also can’t imagine leaving.

This film works to showcase the struggles of navigating a relationship you feel isn’t going where you’d like, but also wouldn’t want to leave. In the most down to earth, straightforward, realistic portrayal of a blossoming open relationship.
