Threads

A mysterious woman goes through abandoned cities that are buried in sand. She collects quivering treads from the dead bodies of people she stumbles upon. She uses the threads that contain the essence of every man to make a cape she will later give to her successors, the children hidden from the sun in the deep underground.

Director Biography - Jelena Vucic

Jelena Vucic was born in 1993 in Belgrade. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master's studies at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade at the Animation department under the mentor-ship of Professor Rastko Ciric. She graduated in 2016 with the animated film "Justice", which has visited several festivals in Europe and America, and in 2019 she got her Master’s degree for the animated film "Threads", which had its premiere at the 2019 BALKANIMA International Animation Festival.

In 2019 her first book was published by System Comics and Lokomotiva. This book by the name “Pratnja” was written and illustrated by Jelena. “Pratnja” is a fantasy book of 500 pages and 16 illustrations.

Jelena Vucic is a multi-award winning participant at the International Comics Festival in Belgrade. As one of the authors, she participated in the second book of the comic book series "At the Front line/ LIGNES DE FRONT" in the 2015 edition of System Comics. The comic "Through the Blizzard", published in the "At the Front line" series, won the main award of the Comic Festival in Valjevo in 2017.

In 2015, Rosenkrantz released her first comic book, titled "Tito," based on a script by Predrag Djuric. Jelena Vucic is also active in the printing arts. In 2014, she participated as a guest author at the Hanga Forum exhibition in Japan.
