Those We Honor
Those We Honor is a deeply personal and poignant documentary short that captures the firsthand experiences of five extraordinary men, each representing a different branch of the military during World War II. These interviews, filmed in 2013, were initially kept under wraps, awaiting the time when the heroes themselves had passed. Now, as the number of living WWII veterans continues to dwindle—less than a quarter of one percent of the 16.4 million who served remain today—this project stands as a tribute to their bravery and sacrifice.
The film not only preserves the memories of these men but also serves as a powerful reminder of the immense cost of freedom. By 2026, it is projected that fewer than 30,000 WWII veterans will still be with us, making the voices captured in this documentary all the more valuable. Through intimate interviews and the men’s personal stories, Those We Honor invites viewers to reflect on the legacy of those who served, reminding us of the profound impact their courage and sacrifice had on the course of history.
This documentary is more than just a historical record—it's a testament to the enduring spirit of these veterans and an effort to ensure that their stories continue to inspire future generations. Through the men’s recollections, viewers are given an unprecedented glimpse into the experiences of those who lived through one of the most defining conflicts in human history, offering a glimpse of the courage and humanity that carried them through the darkest of times.

For me, filmmaking is all about telling real stories. I believe the best stories are the ones that feel true to life—the ones that capture moments, emotions, and experiences we all recognize. Whether it’s a simple glance, a quiet conversation, or something unexpected, real life has a way of being extraordinary.
I make films because I love exploring what it means to be human. I want my work to invite people into moments that feel honest and relatable, whether it’s through humor, drama, or just a small observation. My goal is always to create films that connect with people—stories that make them feel seen and heard.
At the end of the day, it’s the small, real moments that move me the most. That’s why I keep coming back to filmmaking: to capture those moments and share them with others.
